Project Overview
Douglas Community School is a Christian school in Cork, Ireland. In 2022, Donworth Office Interiors was commissioned to redesign and modernise the school’s library area, transforming it into a multi-functional learning hub that combines study, collaboration, and relaxation zones.

Design & Planning Work
New design of the library area – to include new computer and study area, tall tables, presentation area and soft seating area.
We have surveyed the rooms, took measurements, photographs and proceeded to the design – including AutoCAD plans and 3D design with renders.
Furniture Supplied
Computer & Study Area
Bespoke computer counters, task seating, round tables, visitor seating, high tables, and stools.
Presentation / Project Area
Folding tables and visitor chairs for group activities and presentations.
Soft Seating Area
Sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, and poufs — providing comfort for reading or informal discussions.
Outdoor Area
Outdoor tables and seating for students to relax and study outside.
Existing bookshelves and the reception counter were retained.

Result
The redesigned library area now provides students with a bright, comfortable, and functional learning environment. Each zone — from study counters to soft seating — supports different styles of learning, from individual focus to group collaboration.
